Here’s the deal …
I’m totally in the dark when it comes to cruise destination management companies like Go Port. So, when I was asked to blog about what it is they do exactly, I did what any uninformed nudnik would do, I panicked.
My eyes surely must have glazed over while I listened to the CEO expertly deliver a well-versed discourse about the company’s overall mission. It wasn’t that the information was particularly difficult to grasp, it’s just that I never knew such a service existed.
Now, I’ve taken a couple cruises in my less-than-exciting life, but I never researched the details of what it takes for a stress-free trip … which might explain why my cruising experiences were somewhat anxiety ridden.
The basic concept of Go Port, though, is really quite simple. It’s about providing customized Fly, Snooze, Cruise packages and services that meet the specific needs of the cruise traveler, who, by the way, is distinctly different from the ordinary vacationer or business traveler, with or without the black socks and sandals.
It’s about getting cruise travelers to and from their destinations, without them having to check their cell phones to see if they’re on time, for the lowest cost possible.
And, it’s about working with transportation and hotel experts to handle cruise particulars, particulars that often are overlooked or ignored until the high costs of such separately booked amenities start to smack them in the wallet.
With Go Port there are no surprise costs; everything is included in the packages and explained up front. Woo hoo!
In short, Go Port is the glue that holds it all together and allows cruise travelers peace of mind so they can begin to enjoy their vacation the minute they leave for their destination.
So, kick off your oxfords and pull out the flip flops … and don’t forget to pack your black socks.
Tomorrow: Why we can offer great, customized packages for less than the hotels.
