The Norwegian Prima will make Port Canaveral her home this December 2022 as part of Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL) newest class of ships. With the word Prima meaning “first” in Italian, it’s fitting that she is the first of her fleet to launch this summer. Norwegian designed this ship to elevate expectations, with a focus on innovative design, the latest technology, and top-notch amenities. The Prima will be offering 5 and 9-night sailings to the Caribbean, Great Stirrup Cay, and Cozumel from Port Canaveral.
Activities and Entertainment

NCL is known for their stellar entertainment, with the Norwegian Prima’s groundbreaking transformational theater and nightclub being no exception. This three-level venue has the ability to seamlessly convert from an elaborate performance stage to an extensive dance floor with customizable seating and a massive LED screen. Here you will have the joy of experiencing Broadway-caliber performances, a Vegas-inspired nightclub, interactive live game shows, and even a full-scale disco.
The Norwegian Prima features the Tony-nominated musical “Summer: The Donna Summer Musical,” which is based on her rise to becoming the Queen of Disco. “Light Balance Universe,” a golden buzzer winner on “America’s Got Talent,” will be performing onboard with high-energy choreography and acrobatics combined with a multisensory light show. The Prima is also rolling out live game shows, including “The Price is Right LIVE on NCL,” where cruisers can “come on down” to spin the giant wheel for a chance to win big.
For adrenaline junkies, the Prima’s slides are the fastest on the open ocean. She features the first free-fall slide in the world, coincidentally called The Drop, as well as dueling slides named The Rush that measure 10-stories down the side of the ship. Cruisers seeking more adventure can also zoom through the Prima Speedway, the first three-level race track at sea.
Looking for the ultimate getaway? The Norwegian Prima has exclusive quarters known as The Haven, complete with premium perks like a luxurious lounge & bar, sun deck, infinity pool, outdoor sauna, and cold room. Consider this space “your ship within the ship,” as guests staying here have their personal concierge and 24-hour butler to cater to every desire.
Dining
Complimentary dining is far from boring on the Norwegian Prima. The main dining room, Hudson’s, offers breathtaking views and a mouth-watering menu. Favorites include a reinvented Beef Wellington, fresh bomba rice seafood paella, delightful butterscotch apple pie with vanilla ice cream, and more. The other main dining room, Commodore Room, is a bit more upscale. Cruisers can enjoy traditional dishes like honey-glazed pork chop or New England clam chowder on this side of the ship. For instant gratification, guests are welcome to take advantage of the open-air marketplace buffet at the Surfside Café, or satisfy every craving at the Indulge Food Hall. This area will offer 11 diverse culinary venues: Coco’s, Q Texas Smokehouse, Starbucks, Seaside Rotisserie, Nudls, Tamara, The Latin Quarter, Tapas Food Truck, Garden Kitchen, Just Desserts, and Just Ice Cream.
Guests willing to pay for more specialty dining can indulge in additional options for an upcharge. Onda by Scarpetta offers an elegant Italian dining experience you will not want to miss. When craving Mexican fare, check out Los Lobos — where traditional flavors get a modern twist. For a more casual vibe, there is The Local Bar & Grill serving American classics and frozen cocktails with incredible views in a relaxed beachy atmosphere.
