Norwegian Changes Service Charge

GPC featured Norwegian Spirit

Norwegian Cruise Lines is no longer allowing guests to remove or change the Daily Service Charge while aboard the ship. The charge is for services provided by waiters, stewards, and other staff passengers may not see. While no reason has been given for the policy change some have speculated that its to ensure that any adjustments to the charge are because of problems with service rather than for reasons of thrift on the part of passengers.

At the current date the charge is set by room type at:

  • $13.50 per person in studio, inside, ocean view, balcony, and Mini-Suite staterooms
  • $15.50 per person staying is Suite and The Haven staterooms
