Hurricane Maria Changes Port Canaveral Cruise Itineraries

Update as of 9/25/17 at 10:00 AM

Hurricane Maria made landfall in Dominca late Monday night as a powerful Category 5. The storm is now barreling through the Eastern Caribbean as a Category 4. Maria is not projected to make landfall in the U.S. at this time.

Cruise lines have started modifying itineraries in order to keep their ships out of Hurricane Maria’s projected path. Here’s an overview of the changes for voyages underway this week.

Carnival Magic – September 16th
Departed Port Canaveral on Saturday for an 8-day cruise to Amber Cove, San Juan, Antigua and St. Kitts

Carnival Magic – September 24
Departing Port Canaveral on a 6-day cruise to Cozumel, Belize and Costa Maya.

Disney Fantasy – September 23 and October 7
Both sailings depart Port Canaveral on a 7-day cruise to Cozumel, George Town, and Falmouth.

There will likely be more itinerary changes as the path of Hurricane Maria becomes more defined later on in the week. We will be keeping track of and sharing any further updates.

Hurricane Irma Update:

Given Hurricane Irma’s impact to St. Maarten, St. Thomas and Key West, Royal Caribbean will be working on alternative ports for future sailings until these islands have fully recovered.

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced it will modify all of Norwegian Escape’s eastern Caribbean cruises to a western Caribbean itinerary for the remainder of 2017.

The following port changes have been made:

Oasis of the Seas  September 24th
Ships scheduled to dock in St. Maarten will now be redirected to St. Kitts.

Oasis of the Seas  October 8th
Ships scheduled to dock in St. Maarten will now be redirected to Nassau.
