ORLANDO,USA - AUGUST 23, 2014 : A crowd of visitors walkingThe obvious one, and the one we will cover first, is the multitude of theme parks in Orlando. Port Canaveral is Orlando’s port and is only 45 minutes away from all of it’s theme park attractions like Disney World, Epcot Center, Universal Studios, and more. Port Canaveral is the perfect spot to begin or end a theme park vacation with a cruise.

Number 2: The Rockets

It is the launch site for every United States human space flight since 1968.The Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station is only about 10 miles from the port and instills the wonders of space travel upon it’s visitors. Port Canaveral is well situated to view space launches too. The northern border of the port actually abuts the air station which still launches Atlas V rockets for the Air Force and Falcon 9 rockets courtesy of Space X.  If your cruise doesn’t coincide with a launch you can still see the rocket garden and experience the launch simulator at the Kennedy Space Center Visitors Complex.

Number 3: The Beach

Surfers in the Atlantic Ocean under a rainbow near the Cocoa Beach PierCocoa Beach is the surfing capital of the Atlantic. The beach area boasts some great eats too. The Shark Pit is right off the beach next door to the famous Cocoa Beach Surf Company Store.
