Club 20
Not a bar so much as a dance party held in the Solarium Bar on the Oasis and Allure of the Seas it’s one of the hottest night spots afloat. Inspired by Miami’s South Beach, this party features a Scratch Academy trained DJ and Royal Caribbean provides a couple of go-go dancers to get things started. The retractable roof means you can enjoy the sea air in the rare moments you step off of the dance floor, and it means the party won’t be called on account of rain either.
One Small Step
The Carnival Valor has a theme that recalls great figures and moments in American history, and what’s more heroic than the Moon landings? Carnivals décor tends to be hit or miss, and this is one of the times when it’s a hit. Highlights include the Earth on the ceiling, footsteps on the floor, and the wall of monitors. A DJ trained by DJ Irie, who is Carnival’s official DJ (as well as being the official Miami Heat music maker), keeps things moving.
Liquid Lounge
Carnival scores another one with Liquid. A theatre onboard the Sunshine that transforms into a nightclub after hours. By volume it is probably the largest nightclub at sea, and when it’s full the most popular. It does, however, mean that all that space can be empty during the shoulder season, so if the nightlife is what you crave we suggest booking during a peak. Like during the upcoming Spring Break season.
Bliss Ultra Lounge
Norwegian’s Bliss Ultra Lounge found on the Epic, Breakaway, and Jewel class ships. It really belongs in a class of its own. It’s plush and vibrant, and features shadow dancers and a DJ spinning the latest hits. Onboard the Epic—coming to Port Canaveral later this year—the Bliss Ultra lounge has more dance space than Epic’s sister ships do. When you’re tired of dancing you can have a seat in Bliss’s plush and incredibly colorful lounge area.
Jazz on 4
This is an exclusive for Oasis of the Seas, and something of a secret. The ice skating rink and central park on the Oasis gets more attention. It’s a live jazz showcase styled after a 1920s era Chicago speakeasy, and if you’re looking for conversation over drinks over a pulse-pounding beat then this is one of your best options. If you’re the sort who owns a fedora, then this is your venue.
